A COUPLE OF QUESTIONABLE METHODS
I have no idea where the Hialeah Library librarians got their training, standards, respect for old publications, and certification. I don't know what they were taught. I don't know what policies they should apply to the material they are supposed to guarad and preserved. However their practice lacks common sense, may be biased, and instead or preserving, they are destroying important sources for future reference.
MISSING COLLECTIONS
The magazine collection department has been ravaged. Complete collections like that of National Geographic and GeoMundo (the best Latin American educational publication of its time were given to parks and other institutions. Same destination suffered other magazine collection. Apparently, in the mind of the magazine caretakers old magazine are not worth preserving, only current ones are…
REFERENCE BOOKS IN JEOPARDY
As a library policy, fantastic comic scrip collection books, were to be disposed of. Comics, despite of the hundred of scholars, professionals and fans, are worthless according to the Hialeah Library mentality. I hope other Library with a most respectful attitude elsewhere saved these precious books.
